I think there's a program called Handbreak that's pretty good for DVD ripping. I could be wrong about what it's called...because I don't actually have it. xD

Awww, thank you for that. Multi-pairing/anime are nice, but hard. Always a TON more work. And yet sometimes they're easier too....
HIGHLY recommend that everyone watch this one, AND read the word doc that comes with it. it's an AMAZING amv.

Hey.....A question for the group. Have any of you heard of AMV studios on YT? I'm in (and the founder of) a couple of them, and I'm looking for members. <3 Is anyone interested?

I want to try my hand at AMVs but I don't know where to start. the only movie program on my computer is movie maker and I don't know how to get clips from the DVDs i have. Could someone help me out a little bit.
Can I use Movie Maker to make AMVs? Where do I get a Movie program If i can't? How do I get the clips onto my computer?
I think I can figure out how the rest works it's just the getting started that I have problems with.

alfred, you most certainly can use WMM to make AMVs! You get your clips off your dvds by using a ripper such as handbrake (it's easy to find a reliable one that will cost you little to nothing if you look online.) If you want a better program for AMV editing, you'll have to put out a little money for one. ^^; Sony Vegas can run from 80-100 dollars or so depending on version and extra effects purchased.
