I want to know what everyone thinks of this video. Personally it enraged me.

I: That lady has issues. Why does she care what people decide to do with their weekend? Hasn't she ever heard of vacations or hobbies? Pffft.

What do they mean "Leave others to save the economy"?!? I thought spending money was HELPING the economy! What is their problem? Just 'cuz they're too lame to be geeks!

Exactly. Going to Washington would accomplish even less then going to the con itself. 1) The economy is not a person that can think or feel. It does not care that you are protesting it. 2) The politicians may care even less then the economy does. 3) You will be spending money on the same things (hotel, travel, food, etc) only possibly doing less good seeing as the con itself hosts a blood drive and booths for non profit organizations. 4) A TON of nerds give a lot back to the community, possibly more then this woman ever did. 5)Its a VACATION!! Not up to some self important nit-wit to decide what a worth while use of their time and money goes.
All around I think it was a poorly executed attempt at bullying.

Agree with you 100%, Shiro. I thought it was funny how often the reporter stated "Comic Con is not reality." Well, duh. Who doesn't want a vacation from reality now and then?

Actually comic con is just as much a reality as the homeless people wandering the streets. Is a persons life any more real if they are living in a cardboard box vs a mansion? They are just experiencing the harsher facets of reality.

I can't believe she wants to tell us what a "responsible" vacation is. It's a VACATION!!!

XD Yes, going to Disneyland would be a more responsible vacation.

Love how she just cut her off at the end without giving her any time for a proper rebound?

After I got over the irritation of calling a going to a convention irresponsible, (and really, what vacation or hobby is) I was actually kind of disappointed. 90% of what she said I've heard before. If you're going to try to put nerds down, please invent something new. Refi-chan-chan: It's because she finally realized how badly she was losing the argument.

Because a few thousand nerds leave for a week, suddenly the world is left to darkness of the economy. See? Nerds are important! We're gone for a few days and the news is in a panic
